How do I register?
To register, simply click on the “register” button located in the bottom left corner of the parent app’s home page. You’ll need to provide your email address, which must match the one you’ve registered with the School for security reasons. The system will then send a One Time Passcode (OTP) to your registered mobile number for verification. Once entered, you’ll be prompted to set up your password.
My email will not work when registering?
If your email address doesn’t match the one registered with the School, please contact f.carter@ipswichhighschool.co.uk to update your details on the School’s system.
When registering my email, I didn’t receive a 6-digit code?
If you didn’t receive a code, it’s likely that your mobile number doesn’t match the records held by the School. Please contact f.carter@ipswichhighschool.co.uk update your details.
Can all children use the bus service?
Children from Year 1 and upwards may use the bus service.
To help you get started, we’ve created two short videos showing how to make bookings on the platform. Whether you need to set up a regular journey or book transport on an ad hoc basis, these guides will walk you through each step.
Where can I find the bus routes and timetables?
You can find detailed bus routes and timetables on this website. Explore each route to see bus stops and departure/arrival times.
How do I book a regular place on the bus for my child?
Bookings can be made via the parent app. Routes, timetable and fare information can be viewed on the Parent Page.
Regular bookings are made at the start of each academic year but can be amended prior to the start of each term. Before the start of each academic year, parents and guardians will be informed that the booking window is open.
At the end of each term and academic year, all regular bus bookings will be rolled over into the next term/year unless parents and guardians have advised of any changes.
Full fare is charged where 6 to 10 regular journeys per week are booked with half fare charged for 5 or less journeys per week.
Can I use the bus on AM or PM routes only?
Yes, bookings can be made for AM or PM only or a combination of both. However, the minimum charge for a regular booking remains half fare.
What if I need different stops/routes during the week to accommodate my child’s regular travel?
While split bookings aren’t available, we understand exceptional circumstances may arise. Please email us at ipswichhighschool@studentsafe.com for assistance
What if I would like an additional stop?
To request a new stop, please complete our short form for review by StudentSafe. All requests are assessed at the next half term or end of term, whichever comes first. If you have any questions or need help completing the form, feel free to contact us at ipswichhighschool@studentsafe.com.
I only need to use the bus on an occasional basis, can I do this?
Yes, occasional and infrequent journeys can be booked through the parent app and will be charged at the ad-hoc rate per journey. Where a regular booking is made, a minimum of half fare will be charged.
What if I want my child to be dropped off somewhere other than the listed stops?
Please note that the driver will not be able to drop-off or pick up passengers at a non-designated stop that has not been set up in the system. This is due to the necessity of the School and StudentSafe to carry out risk assessments on bus stops to ensure the passengers can get on and off safely.
How will billing work?
Payment must be made in advance of each term via Parent Pay. If you wish to pay annually or via invoice, please contact finance@ipswichhighschool.co.uk.
If I book my child on the bus but they do not travel, will I still be charged?
Yes, as the seat is reserved for your child, no other student can take that seat.
If I cancel my booking after half a term, will I get a refund?
No, billing is for the whole term to facilitate route planning and capacity prediction.
If I start my booking after half a term, will I be charged less?
Fares can be adjusted to allow a charge for a minimum half a term, where there is a change in circumstances or a pupil joins after the start of a term. Outside of these changes, fares will be billed termly and there is not an option for half-termly billing.
How do I cancel / give notice for the bus service?
For cancellation and amendments please email ipswichhighschool@studentsafe.com. All bookings are billed termly and if you wish to cancel partway through the term, you will still be charged for the remainder of that term.
How do I request a refund?
For full details, please view our Refund Policy (PDF).
How can I cancel individual journeys or make changes to my existing bookings?
Bookings are fixed each term, and are automatically rolled over, unless you have informed us that you no longer require the service.
At the start of an Academic Year, we offer a two-week window which allows you to make amendments to your regular bookings or cancel a booking in it’s entirety without penalty. However, once this time has passed, all cancellation rules will apply.
At the start of every other term, we offer a two-week window for booking amendments by either cancelling or amending individual days to accommodate after school activities etc. Full cancellation of the service can only be done at the beginning of the Academic Year or with a full terms notice.
Ad hoc journeys can still be added via the Parent App at any time during the term. These will be added to any other existing bookings and charged accordingly at the end of each half term.
If you need to cancel a regular booking for a specific day (e.g. due to illness or a sports fixture), please go to ‘Make an Ad hoc booking‘ in the Parent App, select which service whether ‘AM‘ or ‘PM‘, select the date you want to make a change to on the calendar then select ‘Remove‘ at the bottom of the page. This ensures that passenger lists remain accurate for insurance purposes and notifies the driver. However, please note that you will still be charged for the journey.
My child will not use the bus during the Summer term due to exams and study leave, what do I need to do?
To cancel your child’s booking, a full term’s notice must be given. This can be done by emailing ipswichhighschool@studentsafe.com. A booking can also be reduced from full fare to half fare within a two-week window at the start of each term if it is anticipated fewer regular journeys will be made.
Please note that once a regular booking has been cancelled, a seat cannot be guaranteed for your child. Where occasional, ad-hoc journeys are required these are dependent on bus capacity.
What if I need to amend my travel arrangements before the start of term?
Please email us at ipswichhighschool@studentsafe.com, and we’ll assist you.
What to do if the school bus is running late?
Wait at your stop for 10 minutes after the scheduled pick-up time.
Check the StudentSafe parent app for bus tracking and updates.
If the bus hasn’t arrived, contact the StudentSafe control centre at 01473 974431.
What if my child misses the bus?
While we recommend being at the stop at least 5 minutes early, our buses should not depart before their allocated time.
If your child misses the bus, you’ll need to arrange their journey to School and please notify us at ipswichhighschool@studentsafe.com
